Los Angeles, CA \u2013 [FEB 19, 2025]<\/strong> \u2013 As devastating wildfires continue to displace thousands across Los Angeles, the 4 Wheel City Foundation<\/strong> is launching the “Disabled Lives Matter” Relief Fund<\/strong> to provide critical support for people with disabilities who have been severely impacted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While disasters affect entire communities, people with disabilities face unique challenges that often go overlooked. From inaccessible evacuation routes to the loss of mobility aids and medical equipment, these individuals are disproportionately affected and often struggle to receive adequate disaster relief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs someone who has lived with a disability, I know firsthand how hard it can be just to navigate everyday life\u2014let alone survive a crisis like this,\u201d said Namel \u2018Tapwaterz\u2019 Norris<\/strong>, co-founder of 4 Wheel City and disability rights advocate. \u201cWe started this fund because too often, people with disabilities are left behind when disaster strikes. Providing Critical Assistance to Disabled Wildfire Survivors<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Disabled Lives Matter Relief Fund<\/strong> will provide:
\u2705 Accessible Housing Assistance<\/strong> \u2013 Helping those who lost their homes find wheelchair-accessible shelter.
\u2705 Medical Equipment Replacement<\/strong> \u2013 Covering costs for lost or damaged wheelchairs, prosthetics, and assistive devices.
\u2705 Emergency Supplies<\/strong> \u2013 Delivering food, water, hygiene products, and other necessities to disabled individuals.
\u2705 Inclusive Disaster Relief Support<\/strong> \u2013 Partnering with organizations to advocate for accessible disaster response efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Movement Behind the Mission: \u201cDisabled Lives Matter\u201d<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This relief effort is inspired by 4 Wheel City’s powerful song, “Disabled Lives Matter,”<\/strong> which amplifies the voices of people with disabilities and demands equal rights and inclusion.
