Los Angeles, CA – [FEB 19, 2025] – As devastating wildfires continue to displace thousands across Los Angeles, the 4 Wheel City Foundation is launching the “Disabled Lives Matter” Relief Fund to provide critical support for people with disabilities who have been severely impacted.
While disasters affect entire communities, people with disabilities face unique challenges that often go overlooked. From inaccessible evacuation routes to the loss of mobility aids and medical equipment, these individuals are disproportionately affected and often struggle to receive adequate disaster relief.
“As someone who has lived with a disability, I know firsthand how hard it can be just to navigate everyday life—let alone survive a crisis like this,” said Namel ‘Tapwaterz’ Norris, co-founder of 4 Wheel City and disability rights advocate. “We started this fund because too often, people with disabilities are left behind when disaster strikes. We’re here to change that.”
Providing Critical Assistance to Disabled Wildfire Survivors
The Disabled Lives Matter Relief Fund will provide:
✅ Accessible Housing Assistance – Helping those who lost their homes find wheelchair-accessible shelter.
✅ Medical Equipment Replacement – Covering costs for lost or damaged wheelchairs, prosthetics, and assistive devices.
✅ Emergency Supplies – Delivering food, water, hygiene products, and other necessities to disabled individuals.
✅ Inclusive Disaster Relief Support – Partnering with organizations to advocate for accessible disaster response efforts.
The Movement Behind the Mission: “Disabled Lives Matter”
This relief effort is inspired by 4 Wheel City’s powerful song, “Disabled Lives Matter,” which amplifies the voices of people with disabilities and demands equal rights and inclusion.
